Hi Stacy

Could you throw some light on MIS in the US? I have heard that this is a popular course, but I could not find anything very informative online.

I work on Business Technology and will complete 2 years at a management consultancy this August. I am planning to do an MBA, but am ready to explore options. My GMAT score is 740.

Please answer the following queries I have:

1. What are the career prospects after an MIS?
2. How easy/difficult is it to get admission to an MIS course from a top University compared to an MBA from a top University? (Considering 2 yrs of work ex and 740 on GMAT)
3. I am interested in a consulting role in future. I have been on business technology and don't mind continuing on a similar role. But does an MIS reduce chances of a broader consulting role which does not focus on technology?
4. I had applied for a B1 temporary work visa to US a couple of months back which got rejected. Would this have any implication on a student visa?

Regards
Prachi
