the notion of 'finally' implies that we have reached the conclusion. It makes more sense to say that something is 'finally being done' than to say that something is 'finally to be done'. Again, 'finally' implies that we have reached the critical point. Favor answers stating that the system is finally being revised. Eliminate D & E.

In A, the basis of the attack is unclear. The author intends to explain that the system is accused of being dated and culturally biased. In A, "after many attacks recently as dated and biased" is very confusing. Eliminate A. Note also that the intent is to describe the attacks as recent. The only ways to convey this is to say "recent attack" (adjective modifying a noun) or "been recently attacked" (adverb modifying an action). In answer A, "recently" cannot describe/modify "attacks". Again, Eliminate A

C is incorrect in part because it uses "much" instead of "many" to quantify "attacks". "Much" modifies quantities that cannot be counted (much money, much courage, much water). If you can count (1 attack, 2 attacks...) then use many. Eliminate C.

Another note about your choice, E, is missing the article "a" before "recent attack".

• Correct: Something happened after a recent attack.

• Correct: Something happened after recent attacks.

• Incorrect: Something happened after recent attack.

The answer must be B.

on a side note... i thought that anywhere we have the word "being" is to be avoided in GMAT. When is BEING correct?

"Being" can be correct.

When 'being' is used as a noun it is often correct.
Example 1: "Being sick is no fun". In this case, 'being sick' is a noun phrase, subject of 'is'. The sentence is correct.
Example 2: "Human beings like to play". In this case 'beings' is part of the noun phrase 'human beings'. The sentence is correct.

When 'being' is used as a verb, it is the present participle (-ing verb) of the verb to be. It can also be correct, especially if the action expressed requires a continuous verb tense (also called progressive tense).
Example 1 - Present continuous: While the generals discussed the peace treaty in Versailles, young soldiers were being killed on the battlefield"

"Being" is often in wrong answers not because it's grammatically wrong be because it's often inefficient or passive.

Example 1: "Henry is being a called by the police officer" is grammatically right but passive "The police officer is calling Henry" is active and more efficient.

Example 2: "The contract was being reviewed by all the parties involved". Better to write in the active form "All the parties involved were reviewing the contract".
