IMO C

solving the qn stem
(2-p)(2-q) = 0 ??

4 - 2 (p+q) + pq = 0???


A)
pq given but no infor for p+q

B)
p+q given but no infor for pq


A+B
can solve as both values given

x^2 - x(p+q) + pq = y

from 1 and 2

To find x intercept y=0

x^2 +2x - 8 = 0
(x+4)(x-2)=0

x=-4 or x =2

We do not need to find x intercept, we just need to find that is particulra point valid or not.

The equation is quadratic so it can have two x intercepts.

Answer is C - we can answer definetly NO - there is no point (2;0) on this function

Dear 4meonly,
I think that the answer is a definite YES. coz when you solve the equation with the 2 values together, we get 0=0;

the below ansers are C and E
I think it is a c because if you solve the values are 2 and -4 so yes it does satisy the equation
so answer should be C

any other explanations please
