for m+n to be odd one has to be even the other odd

from 1

m = p^2 + 4p+4 ( m can be either even or odd depending on p)..insuff

from 2

n = p^2 + 2m+1

insuff

both

m-n = 4p-2m+3 ( even -even +odd = odd)

m-n is odd however ( even - odd = odd or odd - even = odd)
