I havent taken a MGMAT yet, but they are known to be more difficult than the original GMAT. Taking that into consideration your scores seem pretty solid

From my personal experience, I studied for 6 weeks, tested around avg 710 on testing preps like Manhattan GMAT CATs, and ended up with a 660 on the real.

Retake, i studied an additional 2 months, was avg around 770 on MGMAT, and ended up with a 700 Real.

I say keep prepping and testing until you are acing the preps, and I must stress this: approaches to problematic questions (for me, probability and permutations) MUST COME SECOND NATURE and WITH EASE.

Remember, on the real tests, you will always have to account for nerves and testing situation, which for me always lowered my score.

I am not done yet. I'm sorry everyone, but have no illusions:

700 IS NOT A GOOD ENOUGH SCORE for top 10 schools, unless your resume or job positioning is BRILLIANT.

I was rejected by all 4 top schools i applied to this year, even though I was asked to interview with 2.

I think MGMAT is the best non-GMAC indicator of future performance. I took 3, got 640, 660, and 730. I got a 780 on the real thing.

I think time is best spent by taking each GMATprep 2 or 3 times each, rather than on other CATs.

I would be cautiously optimistic of the scores you received on the MGMAT. I basically got the same score as you on the MGMAT, and failed to do well on the actual GMAT exam (540).

I feel that the MGMAT quant section is telling of the actual GMAT score you should earn, Verbal, however, is not. I was scoring in the high 70's, low 80's on the MGMAT CAT's Quant section and that is what I got on the actual GMAT. The verbal the exact opposite. I found that my nerves really got me during the entire verbal section and therefore really clouded my thoughts. If you can control your nerves and remain focused, especially on the verbal section, I think you should score in the mid-600's.

Remember many people find the MGMAT harder than the actual exam, and therefore you may think you are ready to score in the high 600's low 700's, but don't underestimate the difficulty of the real GMAT exam especially when you are not at the comfort of your own home, and the fact that you spend $250 of your own to take the test. Your mind really begins to race along and you might, like I did, find yourself stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Could you please let me know what the break down of your MGMAT scores were for verbal and quant. I am growing anxious about the exam and I am very confused about the score I should expect given my MGMAT scores.

Also took the GMAT Prep exams and the scores are detailed below. However, I saw a lot of repeat questions on all tests. As a result, I am very skeptical about the scores:

GMAT Prep I 730 - (47Q, 44V)
GMAT Prep II - 710 (Q50, 36V)
GMAT PREP II 720 - (Q46, 42V) (re-installed)
Powerprep I 720 - (Q47, 41V)

Finally, is there any advise that you can offer me before the test? I am still trying to be very realistic about the score I should expect.

You scores seem to be pretty consistent, so I think you are freaking yourself out for nothing. Stop worrying about it so much...the anxiety will affect your performance on the real thing. You're doing FINE.

My experience...
I scored between 630 and 660 on MGMAT and got 680 on the real test.. If you take MGMAT tests under test-like circumstances, you'll have an accurate predictor of what ur score should be.

Can somebody throw some light on this.

I want to take the test in a week. I am fed of this damn exam and also need to start focusing on actually applying.

Powerprep I 750
GMAC I 680
MGMAT I 680
MGMAT II 660

Thats the order of the scores. Addtionally I took the 4 princeton review tests over the summer and they were each around 690.

My question is, how much of a realistic indicator is the the powerprep vs. the the GMAC?
