I have taken 2 PowerPrep tests, and one GMAT Prep test over the last month or so. Then, yesterday I took a Manhattan GMAT test. Although my score was consistent with my scores on the other prep tests, I found the quant questions to be much wordier, more drawn out, and overall more difficult than the other tests.

I know all the tests are decent indicators of how I will score on the real test, but which one is the best indicator of what the actual test will be like?

I just busted out my first MGMAT practice test in 3 hours to check to see where I stand. I ended with an overall 490 without having much prep. I just went thru the week 1 online course and I am working on 2-3 hours a night.

I plan on taking the GMAT in June.... I need to get a 680 for my goal. Is this possible??

I have had students accomplish that kind of jump, so it is possible, yes. It's going to take some work, though! But if your 490 is without prep and it's been a long time since you took math (that is, you forgot a lot of it), then your 490 isn't really a true indication of your ability right now - it's just that you've forgotten a lot of the material. (Also, if you ran out of time and left any questions blank, that had a serious downward impact on your score - there's a large penalty if you don't answer all of the questions.)

Also, agree with others above that GMATPrep is the single best indication of what the real test is going to be like - it is basically the real thing (without, of course, all of the stress you'll feel when you actually are taking the real thing...)

Hi, out of the scope, it says there's a free exam in Manhattan site, you can add it to chart etc. but can't figure out how to use it? Could you please assist me? I'll decide whether to buy the other 6 when see the questions etc. Thanks.

You're talking about ManhattanGMAT, right, not Manhattan Review (which is a different company)? Send an email to [email protected] or call 800.576.GMAT and they'll get you all set up with the free test!

Manhattan Review tries to rip off the good name of Manhattan GMAT. They're hoping people will think they're MGMAT when they're not. I thought MGMAT was suing them about that...Stacey, what's the scoop?

Nope, I don't think we could sue anybody for anything like that. After all, we didn't make up the word Manhattan. We can't claim a monopoly on naming a company after one of the largest cities in the world!

And I don't know anything about the other company in terms of its effectiveness - it might be perfectly fine. But I do know people mix us up so I just want to make sure someone's talking about MGMAT if I'm going to answer for my company. I've had people ask me questions about books before and I'll think they're talking about our books but turns out they're talking about the other company's materials and it takes us a post or two to figure that out!
