If x is an integer, is 3x less than 500?

(1) 4^x–1 < 4x – 120

(2) x^2 = 36

question can be rephrased as: is x<6?

what is the best way to solve statement two? I am choosing numbers to force answer out but looking for faster and easier way!

Are you sure you got the question right

how can 3x<500? be rephrased as x<6?

BTW from A you get x>4 and from B you get x=+-(6)
