MG Idioms - About As Many As

by cbenk121 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 5:13 pm
I have a sentence here:

"We have ten apples, about equivalent to what we picked yesterday."

This answer is labeled wrong with no explanation, why? My guess is that "equivalent" can't be used on objects you can count.

The right answer is "We have ten apples, about as many as we picked yesterday"; I'm trying to figure out why the original answer is wrong.

Thanks!
