pls show me the steps to solve ths
the mean lenght of 6 rods is 44.2
the mean lenght of 5 of them is 46 cm , how long is the sixth rod ??

the mean lenght of 5 of them is 46 cm , how long is the sixth rod ??

sum of the lengths of 6 rods= Mean * number of rods
= 44.2*6
= 265.2
sum of the lengths of 5 rods= 46*5 = 230
length of 6th rod = 265.2-230 = 35.2
