this is 1 st question test from McGraw-hill Gmat and i chose D but still feeling confused about the way it uses. please explain and give me your choice. i dont have the answer for this question

in winning 1998, Kentucky Derby, Swiftilocks showed a burst of speed as that of Man o'War, who won 20 of 21 races in 1919 and 1920
A . as that of Man o'War, who won
B. not unlike that of Man o'WAr, who won
C. not unlike Man o'War, who won
D. like that of Man o'War for winning
E. like Man o'War and his winning.

i am confused between B and D but not prefer B much because " not unlike" seems wordy to me
how do you guys think?
