Updates from the Michigan Ross MBA Program

In the latest entry on the MBA admissions blog at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, director Soojin Kwon shares key updates for waitlisted and Round 3 applicants, as well as news of what's on the horizon for the upcoming application cycle.

Most of the R3 interviews have been conducted, says Kwon, and these applications are in the final review phase with notifications due to come out May 15 after the school sees how many deposits are received by May 1 and thus how many admissions offers can be made.

Meanwhile, Michigan Ross will continue to review the waitlist throughout the summer as space becomes available in the class, and will host a welcome weekend in mid-June for students admitted in May.

For the Fall 2014 application, due to go live on July 1st, Kwon explains that essays one and two will remain unchanged, while the others will be under review and revision. Perhaps more importantly, the admissions director informs future applicants that Michigan Ross has started using a service to review essays for plagiarism, which was detected in several applications this season. "We did not and will not admit students whose applications are found to contain plagiarized content," Kwon warns.

In closing, Kwon reiterated the school's plans to roll out the team-based interview next year, but noted that the scale of the roll out will be determined this summer.
