MBA vs Dual Degree (seeking expert advice)

by mehrabounr » Wed Jul 13, 2011 12:16 pm
Hello,
During my search in b-schools i found that a lot of them offer dual/joint degrees.I am considering applying for these programs but i have a lot of questions and couldn't find enough answers for them. Can any of the experts or students who applied for such degrees answer some of these questions?

*Is getting to a dual degree harder than an MBA?

*With a specific resume, work experience, etc does one have the same chance in dual degree,or you have to have a better application that the normal MBA applicant?

Is the applicant pool different (ex. if 1000 people apply for an MBA,200 Of these 1000 would apply for a D.D. or a new 200 would apply and the total count would be 1200?)
What is the difference between admissions to MBA and a dual degree (except JD/MBA that needs a special exam)

*Getting a dual degree usually means taking fewer courses in both degrees and counting some towards both.Wouldn't that make you a weaker graduate in comparison to someone who has taken the full MBA course(with 6 more related courses)?
