MBA Admission - Diversity question

by lsampaioemel » Fri Nov 02, 2012 3:52 am
Hi,

I have a question regarding the admissions standards used for schools such as INSEAD, LBS, Columbia, and HEC (top tier schools).

I am a dual citizen with both Portuguese and American nationalities. Do I have any advantage applying to these schools with any nationality due to diversity requisites for the Universities? Or is it totally irrelevant?

Thanks!

Great question! Unfortunately, I don't have a clear black or white answer for you. Nationality can factor into admissions decisions since each school is looking to build a diverse class of students. But I would say your experience matters much more than your actual technical passport. Let's just say that it won't make or break your application either way. I believe you can state you are a dual citizen on the applications, though. If so, that's what I'd suggest.

Best of luck,
Mili
