Maximum Possible Scaled Score in Each Section?

Expert replies
by btgmat_2010 » Sat Jun 19, 2010 8:43 am
I recently talked to someone who told me that he got a scaled score of 52 in the quant section on GMATPrep. Moreover, he indicated that he knew someone who scored a 54 in the same section on GMATPrep.

I believed that the maximum you can score in any section was a 51. So has GMAC changed something or is the information provided by these guys incorrect?

Anyone else has some opinions/experiences to share?

Thanks,

Technically it's 60, but 51 is apparently the highest that has been reported. Two 51 will get you 800.

That's the point. I realize that on GMATPrep, even if you answer all questions correctly on Quant and Verbal sections, it gives u a scaled score of 51 on each, and a total of 800. That's what surprised me, since although GMAC says possible score is between 0-60, there is no way u can get more than 51. I have scored 51 in Quant on multiple occasions, and I believe that's the max one can get.

Thanks,
Yeah, I think this guy might be mistaken. I've never seen someone get higher than 51.
