The perimeter, P, is the same in both cases.

The 4 sides of the square each have length P/4.

The 3 sides of the equilateral triangle each have length P/3.

The ratio of a the length of a square side to the length of a triangle side is (P/4)/(P/3) = 3/4.

Do you have the original question?
As you know, GMAT math questions always have 5 answer choices. So, a question like this would never appear on the GMAT.
