Hi,

I have been studying for a couple of months now.
My last two mgmat test scores for quant are 45 and 46. Going over the results, I noticed that I get most questions in 650 range correct but cannot crack harder questions. Also, I seem to have a way of getting my number system questions wrong.

Now I have read in this forum that just going by test results are not always idea but I am struggling to get the score up from 46. Any other ideas as to how I can ascertain my Math strategy?

I think I need a refresher on hard problems as well as some on number theory. I am ordering Kaplan workbook and the mgmat number properties book.
I am now 5 weeks away from the exam. Is this a reasonable strategy?
Most interested to hear what other forum members think!

I have one follow up question: How does scores of 45,46 in MGMAT quant sound like. The percentile indicated 78% but how does this score stack up in the real GMAT?

I can't really speak to how MGMAT's quant performance correlates to your real GMAT score--the best way to determine that is to take a GMATPrep test from MBA.com (it's free) and see how you perform in that quant section. GMATPrep is the most realistic simulator of the GMAT, since it's developed by the makers of the GMAT.

To piggy back off what Eric said (GMATPrep is more like the GMAT than anything else), I always encourage people to set as their goal: to master as much of GMATPrep as possible. Although there are just 2 tests, to date I count over 1,200 questions in the software. You definitely can't have a perfect prep program without GMATPrep.

GMATPrep alone is not sufficient however. To get the most of those questions, you must study detailed solutions. The software doesn't include solutions, but you can get solutions to any GMATPrep Q here on BeatTheGMAT or other communities such as GMATFix or GMATClub
