Yes, OG questions are very easy at the beginning of the section. They are sorted in ascending order from easy to hard. If you want hard questions, you can get them in the last 75-100 problems in the practice section of OG.

And yes, GMATprep s/w is much harder than the questions in OG. OG is always a useful resource because they contain retired real GMAT questions.

If questions from OG are easier than real gmat qeustions what's the point of OG then? A lot of people say that it is a great source but it does not look like it. Is there a resource with 600-700 points questions?

You are correct that OG is relatively easy when compared to real exam but this applies only to Math in my opinion. Yet, practicing Math with OG is worth doing so. Also, remember that the exam is really competitive as time pass by and the test makers do their part to make it even more competitive by increasing the complexity of the questions. Otherwise, a score of 700+ would increase rapidly.

But the verbal in OG is a pot of gold for test takers. The verbal in OG is very close to real exam. So, you should develop all strategies required and then practice with OG.

As i mentioned earlier, all difficult questions can be found in the last part of the section (last 75-100 questions)

Though it is true that most of the quant problem may seem easy but the way the soln. approach is described at the back helps us to know the frequency of the different concepts that are going to be tested on the test day.Also,in math it is more imp. to know the basic concepts and problem solving approaches rather than just practising questions of higher difficulty.I guess if you study the soln. at the back carefully,you will notice why the OG is given so much preference.
Once you have done with the OG, there are lot of other places where you can practice difficult problems.

Also, the sentence correction solns. come in very handy in your preparation.If you understand all the techniques of identifying mistakes in the sentence ,I guess the verbal part becomes very easy.
