what is the value to the nearest dollar of
350 marks?
(A) $174 (B) $176 (C) $524
(D) $696 (E) $704

Thanks in advance
0.497 mark = 1$
1 mark = 1/.497 $
350 mark = 350/.497 = 704. ( answer is greater than 350/.5 = 700, hence we select 704). :)

0.497 mark = 1 dollar
Multiplying both sides of the equality by 350/0.497, we get:
350 marks = 350/0.497 marks => Slightly greater than 350/0.5 = 700
Only option that works is choice E)$704.
