I have 2 versions of Mahattan SC guide (2005 and 2008) version. The 2008 version is almost double the size of 2005, and contains too much detail. I wanted to know if such in-depth knowledge of grammar is required to ace sentence correction questions? Shouldn't all the stuff in the 2005 version suffice?

I don't mind reading through 200+ pages, but absorbing all of it and applying it is much tougher than 120 or so pages. And i dont know if that much effort would be justified for 14 of the 41 questions in verbal. Wouldnt I be better off putting time in other verbal and quant sections?

Any one used both books? Any opinions?
