I haven't seen reviews of thins one up until now. In case you don't get any other answers, here's the link to the amazon.com comments. It seems the book is viewed as somewhat too basic by some buyers.

My friend used it so I looked at it and it's really, really simple. Basically the same concepts from the bigger guides that include math but gives a little more basic info. Tells you shortcuts like how to find 10% of a number. You should get it only if you are really struggling w/ the basics of those topics

i would recommend only if you're the type of person who has a hard time identifying whether to use fractions or decimals when trying to solve a problem- and thus spend too long doing basic math trying to manipulate the decimal or fraction.

otherwise, i think if you do the manhattan gmat CATS and look over the fraction/decimal/percent answer explanations, you should be fine.

plus, a lot of the percent stuff was probably learned in the word translations book.

as someone who purchased ALL the books, FDPs was probably on the less-helpful side.

I bought all Manhattan GMAT's quant books. Fractions Decimals and Percentages is pretty basic. So if you are decent at math it's prolly not worth buying it.

That said, I DID pick up a couple of techniques that made solving certain problems easier and faster ( percent change v. percent of original and chemical mixtures). I was able to solve these types of questions fairly easily but MGMAT's technique was better.

It can't hurt to get it and go thru it but if you don't have time or ur budget requires that you chose between different books, then you don't need to get this book.

The best MGMAT quant books are 1) Number Properties, 2) Equations, Inequalities and VICs, and 3) Word Translations.

Of course MGMAT's Sentence Correction is the bible!
