Nearly all mail that is correctly addressed arrives at its destination within two business days of being sent. In fact, correctly addressed mail takes longer than this only when it is damaged in transit. Overall, however, most mail arrives three business days or more after being sent. If the statements above are true, which one of the following must be true?

A) A large proportion of the mail that is correctly addressed is damaged in transit

B) No incorrectly addressed mail arrives within two business days of being sent

C) Most mail that arrives within two business days of being sent is correctly addressed

D) A large proportion of mail is incorrectly addressed.

E) More mail arrives within two business days of being sent than arrives between two and three business days after being sent

The GMAT is indeed adaptable. Whenever I answer RC, it proficiently 'adapts' itself to mark my 'right' answer 'wrong'.

MOST > 50%
NONE = = 0 %
ALL = 100 %
SOME = 1-99 %

Nearly ALL = < 100 % ( but close, how close ? god knows! )

A) A large proportion of the mail that is correctly addressed is damaged in transit

Damaged is one reason. Maybe they don't have any addresses on them!

B) No incorrectly addressed mail arrives within two business days of being sent

Bald claim! NO!! Argument does not support this NO!!

C) Most mail that arrives within two business days of being sent is correctly addressed

Most of the mails correctly addressed arrives in two days What a trap!

D) A large proportion of mail is incorrectly addressed.

True, if not they should be there in almost 2 days and we know NEARLY ALL!

E) More mail arrives within two business days of being sent than arrives between two and three business days after being sent

Argument tells the opposite

Nearly all correctly addressed mails arrive at destination within 2 business days, unless it is damaged in transit.
But, most mails arrive 3b days or more after dispatch.

Why do most mails take 3b days or more??
Even though they are correctly addressed, they are damaged in transit.

Caution: We can't assume that most mails are incorrectly addressed. Nothing is stated about incorrectly addressed mails. Maybe they dont even reach their destination.

Hence A.

HI Logitech,

I agree with you on C .. this is a trap..

But D is not 100% true also.. what if most correct addressed mails are getting damaged...??
Please explain...

Actually not that long because, I have not spent much time on the other couple of first choices. I narrowed the options down to D and C and spend around 30 seconds on each. I usually either GET it or not within 90 seconds, otherwise I guess and move on.

OA is D.
