The conclusion is " It is probably within the reach of human technology to make climate of mars inhabitable". The other premises supports the concusion and it revolves around the climate of mars.

D brings this point; however, i got confused reading the last statement that talks the earth climate.

D holds good.

E is incorrect.
Ask the question, What is the author wanting me to believe.

E is one of the ways or premises by way of which the author is trying to convince me of why research is required.

Remember usually author has one main idea and he uses various techniques to make us believe this idea.We should be able to distinguish bw premises and conclusion. Very imp.

Hope this helps!!
Cheers

A Eliminate. It is a premise. Clue: The rest of the passage does not support this statement.

B Eliminate. Reason mentioned above
C Eliminate. Effort is not being compared. Time is being compared
D Correct
E Eliminate. Reason mentioned above

Cheers!!
