I really need some advice, as I am literally freaking out right now! Okay, my plans are to apply to a couple of MBA programs in hopes to get admitted for the Fall 2011 school year. I took the GMAT today for the first time and didn't do well at all----just to give you an idea, I scored below 500...Yikes! I am planning to apply through the Consortium with my top choice being NYU-Stern. I honestly think I just had a bad day, as I tend to get nervous on timed tests. I am planning to take the test again in 31 days, mainly because The second round Consortium application is due January 5th. Although I will have to submit that score to have a complete application, I plan on contacting the schools that I will be applying to and letting them know that I will be retaking the exam. Most of the schools say that they will accept a higher score if its in by February 1st. I feel I can up my score, but I'm worried that it won't be high enough. On the flip side of things, I have a good application, with a 3.4 GPA. My major in college was business Marketing and I did really well in most of my business courses. My question is, do you think I'll have a shot of getting in if I can't get my GMAT past 600???? I really want to get into NYU! My heart is really set on that school and going next year. I plan to really study so I can master the test next time, but im really nervous about my chances! Any advice would be helpful!
