Hi,
I m a working professional in India,2yrs of work exp in facility management (i have a Hotel Management degree). i am not an
academic achiever, and have scored abt 65% in almost every exam (school,grad, competitive etc);as far as academics go.
I will be giving my GMAT next week, even though i do not expect to score above 600 (sounds stupid to give the exam, but i have to take it to know how it will go by) m taking the plunge.i wish to start college from 2011(which is my aim) hence i am confused if i should take a break,get a pvt tutor (i need work on my verbal) and retake the exam. or should i go ahead, accept the marks that i get and start applying.
i have spoken to few friends (both who have done MBA and not done,and are now about 30yrs old) they all have suggest the same; get done with the MBA asap. Though that's not the primary reason for me to do an MBA. i feel i am ready to go ahead (in life) and expand my knowledge.
I have always had an aptitude for bigger things, like i am more interested to know for eg: how does the price rise of a commodity causes a fluctuation in inflation, how it affects the common man OR how does top management decision percolate down though the levels of management and affects the common worker working out in the field etc. and also creativeness interests me, as in i find it more engaging when i am doing something creative. based on this should i go for a General business management or take up Marketing as my specialization.
Any fair college which i can apply to with a score of about 600 and 64% (about 1.5 GPA)
would really appreciate if you can kindly take some time to evaluate and conclude based on the above factors.
