Managed to pull a 730(Q49/V40) yesterday, much in part to advice received on this forum. I just wanted to pass my thanks along to all of the posters who have provided worthwhile advice, as well as those of you who haven't but have provided some much needed entertainment. Just to give you an idea of my experience with a couple of the prep tests (something I was interested in), I have included my scores below

MGMAT1: We don't need to talk about this test...took it a long time ago w/ zero prep
MGMAT2 (22 Aug): 690(Q51V34) - I did not enforce time on this. I was more concerned w/ becoming familiar w/ the problems since I started studying a few days prior
MGMAT3 (30 Aug): 660 (Q45V35) - I think I tapered the timing down to 80 minutes a section
MGMAT4 (5 Sep): 680 (Q45V37) - Actual test timing
GMATPrep 1 (10 Sep): 720 (Q48V40) - Actual test timing
MGMAT5 (13 Sep): 690 (Q45V39) - Actual test timing
GMATPrep2 (16 Sep): 740 (Q49V41) - Actual test timing

So you can see that my final score was pretty much spot on w/ GMATPrep.

Ani781 - I was a math major so I thought I had this portion in the bag...turns out I did not. I ended up purchasing Manhattan's Advanced Quant guide, which helped out a bit. Honestly, I think just reviewing the question types, finding my weaknesses, and going from there was what helped. I was struggling with Data Sufficiency and Number properties, so aside from the test questions in the Advanced Quants & Gmat Quant guide, I found as many as I could online in these areas prior to the test. While I was missing one or two every now and then in other areas, I chose to study minimally on these and really focus on my weaknesses. I think that is what helped me with my score.

Red217 - I had a pretty condensed study time, so I used my initial diagnostic CAT to identify my weaknesses and went from there. Aside from the quant issues mentioned above, I struggled a lot with Sentence Correction, and could use a little help with CR and RC. I purchased Manhattan's Sentence Correction book, which was fantastic, and Powerscore's Critical Reasoning, which helped out a bit in both CR and RC. One I got confident identifying premises and conclusions, my verbal score rose pretty quickly. I'm not a prep course person, so I didn't go that route. I have all of my books listed below for your reference.
