The idiom is used correctly only in B, but B appears as if farmlands is being modified by which, which is incorrect, so a better option would be to choose an answer which eliminates the idiom altogether... How about D? :o

D it is!

Systematic clearing did A and B

Not only but also is very obvious usage of idiom and that's where the trap lies. Just like pronoun questions, sometimes the best option is to get rid of the pronouns and re-write the all sentence without ONE.

D is concise and reflects the meaning clearly without using an idiom.

I would say

Look at and-And must be used to join 2 Independent clauses and

Not one main and subordinate clause

This eliminates A, C and D

B- "which" modifies farmland and changes the meaning

D

Just to add- Think of correlative idioms only "Not only -But also", "Either-Or" and "Neither Nor" when its in stem ( not underlined part)

or when these are correctly used ( with parallelism and without any semicolon) in underlined part
