Logging industry official: Harvesting trees from old-growth forests for use in manufacture can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, since when large old trees die in the forest they decompose., releasing their stored carbon dioxide. Harvesting old-growth forests would, moreover, make room for rapidly growing young trees, which absorb more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than do trees in old-growth forests.

In Option A - INCORRECT.
In this statement, there is a deviation from the main reason why the old trees should be cut down. This reason was misappropriated to endanger of animal lives, whereas the main reason was to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

In Option B - INCORRECT.
Here, we can notice the use of ''organic matter from old grown trees'' which was not noted in the speakers reason for cutting down the old growth trees.

In Option C - CORRECT.
This statement seek to summarize the speakers point effectively, by saying, the ''young trees contain less than half of the amount of carbon dioxide stored in an old grown trees of the same species. which is the reason why the old grown tress are been cut down and used to manufacture varieties of things.

In Option D - INCORRECT.
Here, this statement is laying emphases on ''decomposed wood and other organic debris'' which is not in accordance with what the speaker said. The speaker was particular about the old grown tress and the excessive amount of carbon dioxide produced and not the decomposed ones laying down on the floor of the forest.

In Option E - INCORRECT.
Also, there is a deviation of what the speaker was particular about. The size of the forest and the amount of tress in it is not the issue on ground, but rather the high risk of excessive carbon dioxide been exhale by the tree to the environment is what is been looked into.
