The formulas which you should know to understand concepts for AP,GP & exp series is..
1) finding an nth term
2) finding sum of n terms in the series.
All the problems use either or both or application of these concepts to determine answers.
It is easy to remember formulas, but it is difficult to remember its applications. And this can be only attained by practicing more problems.
By chance if you have this as part of college curriculum, I suggest you to take a look at those books.
There are lot of questions regarding these concepts in this website, you can search & give a try to solve them.
