This sentence intended to compare the Roosevelts and Kennedys to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson who is frequently giving the type of idolization that stand between fact and fiction legend.

Option A - incorrect
This option compares the veneration accorded to the Roosevelts... to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Option B - incorrect
This compares Roosevelts and Kennedy's veneration to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Option C - incorrect
It makes the same mistake as option A and B. Also, it compares 'that' with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Option D - incorrect
The use of the pronoun 'it' causes an ambiguous statement. The pronoun 'it; still refers to the veneration which is being compared to George and Thomas.

Option E - correct
