if the sentence were to be modified as below , would it be grammatically correct? I m not questioning OA but just trying to understand AS

1.As did Byron,Jack London got killed by the mistakes of the medical men who treated him.
2.As was Byron,Jack London was slowly killed by the mistakes of the medical men who treated him.

Byron did nothing in his killing, so we cannot use "did" here, also "was" is later used in the sentence so we cannot make double use of it.

It has to be A. Other choices have helping 'did' not parallel with helping verb 'was'

but i have a ques...
shouldn't 'as' be used to give example. byron is used as an example for the case of jack london...?

I think 'similar to' and 'like' are not different much in this case, but 'like' is used wider and simpler. We prefer simplest and best thing :D
