Level GmatPrep? / SC strategy ?

Expert replies

Hi all,

I have just taken the CR and PS review questions from the Gmatprep software.
I had 14/15 on PS and 15/15 on CR. I was wondering what does it worth??? I know there is no timming but what levels are the questions? Can I used those review questions to identify my level in each sections?

Moreover, how long is the CAT Gmatprep test?

I have been working on gmat only for 3 weeks so I prefer to go through all the sections before taking any CAT test, otherwise I might be discouraged with a low score!!!

thanks for your replies,

It seems like a good idea for you to wait until you have a strategy for each type of question before you take the GMATPrep.

As to the preview questions - I found the CR to be a little less difficult than average. And of course these are not adapting to you so you don't get that sense that you get from the CAT that every question is a challenge for you.

That said, 15 of 15 on CR is very good or course. The same for 14 of 15 on PS. So you can say that you are above average in each area but it is tough to say how much above from this small sample.

The Computer Adaptive test is 37 questions quant and 41 questions verbal plus the 2 AWA assignments. So this will take you about 3.5 hours plus breaks.

Thanks David for your answer,

Actually I am a french speaking person with a good level in english but not fluent. Despite my level I manage to get about 90-95% of CR questions right !!! I feel slow though!!
I have started to work on the SC section but it is another story :(
I am working with MGMAT SC (I plan to do OG12 exercices) is it enough to reach a descent level? or should I add another book?

I am focusing on the SC section where I feel really weak!

I have already been through the Manhattan SC and i am about to start the OG12 exercices!!!

what else would you recommend in order to improve my SC skills??? OG12 and MGMAT SC is it enough??
