OK - So in the beginning I had a very tough time with the practice questions. After taking a gmat math review class at the local college for 1 month, practicing allot for about 4 months and keeping in touch with www.beatthegmat.com for guidance I have finally gotten a grasp on the exam and closer to high score goal. IS there a learning curve involved here where it takes about 4-6 months to be good at this exam?

There is certainly a learning curve, but it varies greatly depending on the person. Usually we recommend 2-3 months for self study--so if you are still struggling after 4 months, then you might be having some problems with how you are studying...

well at first i have to admit i ws doing the self study technique and it was very discouraging and stressful. I have gotten a bit of tutoring ot understand hte language of the exam and I am doing well. I just want to rack the final scores because my goal is 720. I need to boost my score by about 40 points. THis is the final hurdle for me.

Self-study is of course more difficult than studying with someone who can guide you. I'm glad that you were able to recognize that some outside help would be useful - it sounds like it's finally working for you.
