Latest Date to Take GMAT for Round 3's

by altice » Sat Feb 02, 2013 2:54 pm
I have not started essays or recommendation letter process. I had a GMAT date set for February 11. I believe based on my practice scores, I am not ready and I believe I can do better. Round 3 deadlines seem to go from mid March to mid April. I am prepared to forget the March schools because and maybe I am wrong the later the better as for score. Although I am six months into studying, 4 of which serious.

Altice,

Hmm...

Step 1 -- good thing you pressed 'pause' if you were convinced that there is an opportunity for you to go higher here.

Step 2 -- Business school is an enormous investment and offers the opportunity for you to change your life. It seems short-sighted to me that you'd consider simply writing off certain schools because their timeline no longer works with your revised schedule.

Step 3 -- Do you HAVE to go to b-school next year? I'd rather you come up with a master plan, apply for Round 1/2 next year, and get it right.

Thoughts?

-Brian

If you're asking what is the latest Date to Take GMAT for Round 3, i think in most schools you only need to have your unofficial score when you submit your application, and have the official score sent to the school later (but you should verify this). You will have your unofficial score right after you finish the test.

Well normally two weeks before deadline is the latest date, cause it takes time for you to get your AWAs... sometimes you can apply without having that score (so then one day before application deadline would be last day)... although to be honest, waiting until the very last moment is not necessarily always the best idea, and it may be better for you just to hold onto your horses till next year.
