if we negate E, it contradicts the conclusion

E... to paraphrase the argument...

Evidence: companies that focus on consumer satisfaction are more likely to have higher margins.

Conclusion: companies that focus on consumer satisfaction are more effective.

Assumption: higher margins = more effective.

That equates to E

Hi Tani,I agree on E.I too chose E but i spent a lot of time thinking what to choose between D and E
I feel that negating D does undermine the premise which is that "Companies with Marketing Depts that focus on Customer Satisfaction are more likely to have high profit margins than are companies with Marketing dept s that concentrate on sales.
If we Negate D,
The majority of Markt depts that focus on customer satisfaction do not belong to Companies that have High Profit Margins.=>If there 15 companies with High Profit Margin , 12 of them have Markt dept focussing on Cust Satisfaction while 3 have depts focussing on sales. There could 90 companies with depts focussing on cust saticfaction and only 5 companies with Dept that focus on Sales. So Doesnt this logic undermine the Premise

D doesn't address causality. The relationship could be a coincidence. E points to a cause - "effective" marketing.
