Kellogg brand in northeast

by neomba » Thu Dec 22, 2011 8:37 am
Folks,

I am trying to make a decision between Columbia and kellogg for a 2-year fulltime MBA program. I have a healthcare background and i am not specifically interested in finance. I hear that in the northeast Columbia is a more recognized brand than Kellogg, any thoughts on this?

The question is a good one, but too hard to answer: Recognized by who? How? Does Columbia probably have some more contacts in the NE? Probably? Does everyone in the NE know of and appreciate Kellogg? Probably.
Both being top programs, either could likely get you the position you want.

Columbia is more recognized because well... it's IN the Northeast. Now, with that said is Columbia more recognized in circles/companies that hire MBAs? I'd venture to say no. Just as many recruiters know of Columbia as they do Kellogg.
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.
