I think that the Kaplan tests are good practice, but take the test scores with a grain of salt--Kaplan is somewhat infamous for skewing down scores significantly. PowerPrep might be valuable practice as well, but there's a good chance you'll see overlapping questions with OG 10 and 11.

I would avoid 800score tests. I haven't heard good things about their questions...

My advice would be to continue doing the Kaplan tests, but just be aware that the scores aren't that accurate. Also, you might want to take another GMATPrep at the very end of your prep to see how much you've progressed.

Just to reiterate clearbold's statement--there really isn't a set rule to determining "variation."

Anecdotally, my lowest Kaplan score was a 590 and I ended up with a 700+ on the real exam...
