One more vote for A. Since the discovery is still valid and the rest of the sentence uses present tense, you eliminate C and D. Eliminate E since it adds the verb 'is' which makes the sentence incorrect. Down to A and B, I'd go with A, since it defines a characteristic that still continues. This is very similar to one of the OG12 questions I believe. The one about fungus and root tentacles, with answer choices containing the word 'extend' instead of 'measure'.reply2spg wrote:As a result of a new technique that combines light from two powerful telescopes, astronomers have recently identified the torus at the center of the active galactic nucleus NGC 1068 as a warm compact structure composed of dust and gas and measuring several light-years across.

Not a very good job done here in copying the question (by Kaplan), exact same answer choices too.
What's the OA?
Being defeated is often only a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.
