Kaplan Review Course

by roger19 » Mon May 05, 2008 10:26 am
Hello..
I am planning on signing up for Kaplan's review course. It begins next Thursday and continues every Tues and Thurs until June 18. I have begun going over the OG to not go in blind, however would you all recommend taking a practice test prior to the first class? Also, I heard that the first day is a practice test, is this true? I really want to take this test by the middle to the end of the summer for a mid-sept application deadline.

Any comments?? Thanks very much

Your very first class will indeed be a practice test.

The purpose of that test (called the "Diagnostic") is to determine from where you're starting. You'll get feedback based on your performance to help guide your study over the coming weeks.

I wouldn't recommend doing a practice test before the in-class Diagnostic. You may want to look at some questions to familiarize yourself with the format of the GMAT and the question directions, but doing extra tests before you've learned the strategies that will get you a great score on test day is more likely to slow down your progress than to accelerate it.
