Kaplan Practice Tests

Hi,

I scored a 500 today on a Kaplan practice test, after scoring 710 on 2 previous full length tests (one from gmat prep and one from manhattan gmat cat). This score is a complete de-motivator.

My GMAT date is 18-Aug. Please suggest if scores from Kaplan tests should be really considered very seriously or should they be rather used to check the upper limits of your preparation and improve the difficulty level of the preparation. I might be sounding naive with this question, but your inputs/suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Also any inputs towards improving RC and SC scores would also be welcome.

Regards,
Vishal

As far as I've heard, Kaplan scores are very far from accurate indicator of your performance. In my opinion, just take kaplan tests for the sake of practice. The only tests that are accurate indicators of GMAT are GMATPrep (+/- 30 points from actual GMAT) and Manhattan GMAT (+/- 50 points from actual GMAT).
