Took the GMAT and came out of it with a 490 Q23, V35 and I am not re-taking the test. I am horrible at Math and I sort of gave up on this test a long time ago. However I still wanted to take it just on the odd chance I would do okay. I didn't. I sucked.

But the school I was looking to get into had an average of 550 and it's a Marketing Program, not MBA. Plus I have several years work experience.

Maybe I'll still get in, maybe not. Regardless, glad I took it and glad I'm done with it.

What type of material did you use to get such a respectable verbal score?

Wow you really are a glass half full kind of person aren't you? I respect that. I actually didn't study much at all for Verbal. I just familiarized myself with the test.

I am naturally better at Verbal than Math. Math is my mortal enemy actually. Whenever we see each other we always end up in a fight and it usually wins.

If I was trying to go to Harvard or something or even get an MBA I would have been hitting the Math a lot harder but I'm just applying for a Marketing Masters program that requires the GMAT and have about 6 years of work experience in radio, pretty good letters of recommendation and honestly if I need to be really good at Math to succeed at the program I'm better off not wasting my time anyways.
