just curious..

Hello !

I wrote my GMAT on October 14th and got a 510.Had put in sincere effort, but things din't go as expected. Not an issue,I plan to take it again.

But I have a question here - just very curious to know if I stand a chance of getting into any of the good schools in the US with this score.
(Schools i am looking for - McCombs,Olin,Eli Broad,Rice)

I have 3 years of experience.I have done some interesting things though I belong to the usual IT fraternity.I completed my engineering in Industrial Engineering Management.I have managers who are willing to give me strong reco letters.

Just very curious to know how the universities would treat my application.
Would my application be outrightly rejected? :)

best,

Dear comfortably_numb,

Your application won't be outright rejected, but you will have a hard time making a compelling case to offer you a seat over someone else with the same work experience and degree but a much higher GMAT. I'm glad to hear you will retake the test. For your target schools, you need to be in the 600s to have a reasonable shot and over a 650 to be truly competitive this year.

Good luck,
Lisa

Thanks Lisa.

Thanks for the correction as well-- 'outright rejected' :)
