Hi I was going through an article today about placement of international students after attending their respective colleges.It painted a very grim picture for international students.It said that international students face a very uphill task in getting jobs in the U.S.A after getting their respective education.The rejection rate for international students is about 50% due to the fact that companies do not want to sponsor the H1B visas for the students.Is this true and then considering the amount one spends to get into the mba colleges is it worth it then?

Aha! Good question! But not one that is so easy to answer. It depends a lot on
1. What school you graduate from.
2. What industry you are working in.

the more there is a need for your industry the easier it is to get a visa (so say a Biotech visa is easier to get than say a consulting one). Although in my experience if one of the good companies like you, they have no problem at all making the effort to run through the Visa process to get you on board.

Employability post-MBA in the U.S. is a very important criterion for international students. Generally, the better the school you attend, the less the problem obtaining a job and an H1B visa is after school. Also, certain fields like strategic consulting and industries like technology are more accustomed to hiring foreigners (and obtaining visas) than other more non-traditional fields. So, we would need to know more about the competitiveness of your application and your post-MBA plans to advise you.
