Hello All,

Please guide me how i can improve my profile for admission into ISB for 2013.

Academics:
X - 93.20
XII - 83.83
BE(ECE)-76

1)Graduated from Govt College in ECE(2009)
2)Working in Tata Consultancy services(IT) with work exp of 29 months(9 months International exp)
Currently i am deputed to South Africa working on a Project for a INVESTOR BANK- on the finalcial Services.
Achievements:

1. Scored 4th rank in X exams in my state.
2. Organized and coordinated various Events during my College Fest.
3. Actively participated in various activities - Quiz, Group discussions, Power point presentations, anchoring etc and scored prizes most of the times during the College.
4. Member of the cricket team in TCS and received Man of the match awards couple of times.
5. Actively participated in various Cultural and tecnical events in TCS.
6. Regular Blood Donar
7. Among my hobbies- i like watching movies , reading novels, visiting places and adventurous activities like- river rafting, bungee jumping, mountain climbing, tracking ,abseiling etc

Please let me know what all i can do to get selected in ISB.

Hi Avinash,

First of all take GMAT and try to score a 710+ or so. You are coming from a typical IT profile with TCS experience and hence GMAT score of 710 will help you atleast stay alive in the race if not win it.

International experience will help and try to highlight your client interaction wherever possible in the essays. If you have developed knowledge about financial services sector highlight that as it will be another differentiating factor.

As far as your extra currics are concerned you have mentioned a laundry list of activities and hobbies which dont really differentiate you ( atleast the way you have presented it). Try to bucket extra currics to highlight softer skills such as ability to lead teams, event management skills, your ability to take up a daunting/ challenging task and complete it.

In terms of recos take one from onsite manager or client and one from your TCS supervisor.
