Is y + 1 an integer?

(1) 3 y is an integer

(2) is an integer

The OA is B. I feel the answer to this should be D. Guys need your help asap.

I assume 2 should say "Y is an integer".

If so then obviously Y + 1 would be an integer.

For 1.

Y = 1/3
3y = 1
Y + 1 = 4/3

OR

Y = 2
3Y = 6
Y + 1 = 3

= Insufficient.

Answer: B

Missed out the y/3 in statement 2. the question is

Is y + 1 an integer?

(1) 3 y is an integer

(2) y/3 is an integer

But thanks got my query solved.
