Is x positive?

(1) x*|x|=x^2

(2) x^2*|x|=x^3

The OA is E.

Experts, I have a doubt here. I think that the correct answer is D. Because, in statement (1), the right side is positive which implies that x is positive. The same reasoning for statement (2). Am I wrong?

Hi Vincen,

Did you consider x = 0? The correct answer is E.

Hope this helps!
