Is x greater than x squared?

Answer is (C)

Condition 1)

X<1 so x can be 0.2, 0.5, or -2

hence x may or may not be greater than x^2

Condition 2)

X is positive by itself will not help because x can be less than or greater than 1..

Combining both of them we can definitely say X is greater than X^2.
