The answer is 400. Here is the explaination.

Total no of flights (T) = delayed + non-delayed.

Given ,

delayed = 1200 = 75% of T

0.75T = 1200

Hence non-delayed = 0.25T = 1200/3=400

1200 is the number of delayed flights... which represents 75% of all flights.

so we're looking for what 25% of all flights comes out to. Which is simply 1200/3 = 400.

Read the question carefully... 1200 corresponds to number of delayed flights. not the total flights.

I make such mistakes very often!

Eveb if 1200 is the total number of flights, still then also how could you get 250 as answer. It is neither 25% of 1200 nor 75%.

Please check your basics.
