I took the online CAT for Manhattan GMAT and really improved my quant (47) and (33) verbal (bit low for me but...)

Needless to say, I took my GMAT and literally bombed it by getting the worst score ever. I don't know if I choked but my math was completely a joke although I maintained my verbal score.

I don't know what I did wrong or maybe I might have psyched myself out the timing was not the issue perhaps just nerves...god knows but this is really disappointing......

Sorry to hear about your experience. :(

I want to discuss your test some more: did you feel like you lost your timing during the test? Do you attribute your performance to nerves? Something else?

I really challenge you to think hard about your experience and pinpoint what was different about this test from your other practice tests. My hypothesis is that you have probably prepared well for this test, but something must have happened to you while you were taking the real test.

Keep your head up! You can definitely retake and get your target score!

I think I choked on the first problem of the quant section the last time. I have been practicing consistently actually. I took a gmat prep test and got a score of 640 which would have gotten me into the schools I am considering for my MBA. When I did take a diagnostic for manhattan gmat I received a score of 650 - so after that I felt like I can really conquer the exam.

I re-took the gmat and I got a score of 560 - yesterday. My quant was my strongest and I did not so hot in the verbal. I want to retake it but I want to have sufficient time to sit down and really prepare for the test.

I do have the concepts down I think that I just did not focus so much on practicing on verbal concepts and really worked on math problems from the OG guide and several other sources.

Any ideas?

It sounds like you have the fundamentals down, you just need to do some practice drills to get used to the pace.

To get comfortable with the timing, I recommend doing a lot of practice questions out of OG and practice tests, while keeping an error log. Check out https://www.beatthegmat.com/resources.html for some resources on practicing well.
