Hi,

Before I pose the question, I would like to give a short background about myself:

1. 10th - 90.8%
2. 12th - 95.1%
3. Undergraduate Dual Degree in Mathematics and Civil Engineering from BITS Pilani CGPA: 7.35 (3.3/4)
4. Completed electives related to DBMS and Computer Networks.
4. Community involvement - United Way Ambassador for Deloitte, etc etc etc.

I am presently working with Deloitte,Hyderabad, India as a Business Technology Analyst. We provide innovative solutions to our clients in the Knowledge Management sector. It has been 20 months since I joined the firm as a campus hire from BITS Pilani.

I have been working as a Business Analyst where my role requires interaction with clients, gathering requirements, working on software solutions and coordinating with Dev/Testing teams.

Finally, the Question:

I am really interested to pursue MIS program in CMU/Kelley/Eller. It would be great of you can explain me the influence of following factors on my Application.

1. My Undergraduate Degree (Mathematics & Civil) - Does this impact my application in a negative way, because I do not posses a core ComSci degree ?. If yes, How can I compensate it.

2. Do professional certifications help : (Ex. Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert etc) to get an admit for this program. If Yes, Which ones would be preferred by Adcoms: Tech Certifications vs Process oriented Certifications.

Thanks for your time.
