is p>q ?

Is p > q?

(1) p + 5q is positive.
(2) p + 4q is negative.

Combining

p+5q is +ve and p+4q is negative => q is positive and p is -ve

p is not greater than q

Sufficient C

St.2) p + 4q is negative. --> p + 4q < 0 --> p<-4q not suff
combined ) -5q<p<-4q so q must be +ve and p must be -ve and hence p < q ...suff. AnsC
